I MET LINDA ANNE SILVESTRI!!!

The first week of April was the National Student Nurses Association Annual Convention. Wow that was a mouthful. This year it was held in Orlando, FL. This week was filled with house of delegate meetings, resolutions hearings, workshops, career advisement, exhibits, etc. What a great week!! I learned a lot! This was the first time we could credential and were able to serve as delegates! I also had the opportunity of meeting Linda Anne Silvestri (who wrote the book "Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX Review" - a very famous book among nursing students). PS I love this book and use it all the time!

DALI LAMA

So in February, the Dali Lama visited Nova Southeastern University. He spoke to students and faculty of Nova and Broward College. Broward College, now a 4-year college, presented the first bachelor's degree to the Dali Lama at this time. He shared messages of peace and of getting along with others.

EASTER

Alright so the easter bunny came to our house....and brought us candy and....SILLY PUTTY!!!! So of course we had to make things out of it while we watched General Conference, while we were paying attention of course.

Morgan was working very hard on his masterpiece:
a little man...very detailed!

I made some new accessories, among other pink things.

WICKED!!!

We saw wicked on Friday night and LOVED IT!! I had no idea what to expect beforehand - didn't really know the plot of the movie and was pleasantly surprised :D Loved the music, loved the jokes, loved the storyline. We were in the WAY WAY back - fourth tier row L - we were glad we brought binoculars. So heads up - if you end up going to a broadway and sit in the way back - take binoculars!!! I was surprised at how many people didn't have them, and I think they were really jealous :D Morgan liked the play as well....but when it came to the end and everyone was clapping because they loved it so much, Morgan was clapping because he was glad it was finally we over and we could get something to eat and go to bed.

IT'S MARCH!!!

Alright so it's MARCH!!! Guess I need to post something new. Time is FLYING! Morgan had a spiral fracture in the proximal region of the 4th metacarpal of the left hand the end of January. We were really worried about him needing surgery and not being able to complete his clinicals. However, the hand surgeon said Morgan DOESN'T need surgery!! He wore a wrap for three weeks and has been able to get all of his lab work done just fine. (Now he finishes the same time as the other students instead of way before :D) Morgan is very talented with his hands...even just the one! My accomplishment so far is starting my very first IV! I was so nervous but it went great. Today I did my first dressing change. Albert (our snake) found a new hiding spot this week. The other night Morgan let Albert out to roam the apartment - pretty much like every other night. After we got back from mutual, Morgan couldn't find him... After looking in all the usual places, then looking everywhere else, finally Morgan concluded that Albert had to be behind the dishwasher. He got out his tools and pulled the dishwasher out... To find Albert scrunched up just chillin. That snake is crazy.

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS

Alright so I have been TERRIBLE with blogging. It's a new year, maybe I'll be better :D So this Christmas we were able to spend time with LOTS of family. We flew into SLC (while at one of the airports, I met Santa - above), took a shuttle to Idaho Falls,

drove up to Lewiston and spent time with Mike & Diane & family (went up the river on a boat & went skiing - my first time!),

drove to Spokane and spent time with Dan & Barb, Andrea & Corbin & kids, Janene & Aaric (went caroling, opened a million presents, played a lot with the kids & saw avatar),

then drove back to Idaho Falls to spend Christmas with my family, then caught a ride back to SLC with Caleb & Amy, met up with two of my best friends for lunch, then flew back to Florida. Yes that was the longest run-on sentence ever, but it was the BEST TRIP EVER!!! Barb made me alligator pajama pants and my mom made me dinosaur pajama pants - I think I got the best gifts in the whole world! Thank you to our families for making it the best Christmas!
