My new job + 15 wks

Today I received an oh so important phone call from Broward General Human Resources offering me a RN position. This is the floor I have been externing on since August 2010. Yes, 10 months! It has been my favorite floor & it's exciting & fast-paced. I love it. I have had the best preceptor, the best nurse manager, and I have been learning so much. When I went in for my interview, I hadn't been on the floor for about a month. It felt like home being there. Great staff & just a good feeling. I'm still externing now, but I can't wait to take my NCLEX so I can start working as a RN :D

I am 15 wks this week and life has been so good. I noticed the big change at 14 wks. I have been able to exercise, carry out a regular routine, and even go to a 12 hr hospital shift without throwing up. Eating real food has been wonderful! The exciting baby news of the month is that we find out the gender on June 22nd! We can't wait!!

Run & Coupons

Today I feel like I conquered the world. Today was my first run in a LONG time. I haven't worked out in months. This pregnancy has been rough because there are only certain foods I can tolerate and the constant fatigue & just plain feeling crummy all the time. I am still in that phase, but today I felt like I had enough energy to actually jog/run. I did it! One mile baby! And now I'm drinking lots of water & eating strawberries to celebrate :)

Funny story: I'm trying to get into couponing. I've been watching some episodes of extreme couponing & following the Krazycouponlady blog. All the people on extreme couponing have binders filled with coupons & save hundreds of dollars on their purchases. I've been clipping coupons online & have found some good grocery deals, but still am no where close to getting $400 worth of groceries for free. Yesterday, Morgan asked me if we had a coupon binder. It made me laugh really hard. I am no where close to having enough coupons to fill a binder, so I'm sticking with my wallet for now.

14 weeks

Wow I can't believe I'm 14 weeks today :D I wish it was further along though if it meant feeling better. I have had more energy lately and somewhat of a better appetite, but I'm not sure I'm getting all the nutrients I need. They say you crave what you need so I just hope it's true because all I've been eating is fruit and bread. And I am getting so sick of it (and I've always loved bread & didn't think it would be possible :) Tried eating some spaghetti tonight because I thought maybe I could handle it. It lasted for 3 bites and now I'm uncomfortable & have heartburn & regretting those 3 bites. Thank goodness for tums! The good news is that I've stopped losing weight, so the bread & fruit is doing something good for me. Sounds like I'll continue to stick with that diet for now...

So I've heard really positive things about this bumbo seat and looking to hear more pros & cons. My sister-in-law loves hers and used it all the time, which has me looking into it. It seems like it's a good idea to have baby with you wherever in the house and not always laying down? Tell me what you think... I've seen these for as cheap as $10-15 on Craigslist.

This was one of our exciting finds on craigslist this past month. We sprayed it down, soaped it up, and sprayed it again. Any ideas for sheets? Are all pack n play sheets the same size? And what about a plastic covering to over the bassinet pad/thing?

Cravings

My cute young women always ask me what I'm craving. Well, I don't feel like I have cravings like what I remember from Rebecca Donaldson in Full House. Sorry I tried to find a youtube clip of this, but no such luck. I don't think of something I'm dying to eat & yell for Morgan to get it for me. My cravings are out of necessity of what I think my stomach will handle at that moment. But, I finally have things I look forward to eating:
  • String cheese. Where have you been all my life? Truth be told, I don't think I've had this since I lived at home and was in school. But, when I saw it at the store last time we went, I thought, "I'm pretty sure I could eat that." And I've been eating 2-3 every day!
  • MultiVites. Alright, so these are my new gummy vitamins. They are delicious and I LOVE them. I definitely don't need a reminder to take these.
  • French bread/rolls. I'm really good at eating this. But, even in my sickest moments of the day, I can eat least eat a little of this.
  • Popsicles. I started buying these to keep myself from getting dehydrated. I still eat them to stay hydrated, but I really like them (I've never been much of a popsicle girl).
There you have it - my favorites for the week. I've been doing better with eating more and even eating meals. Still kind of tough, but each week gets better.

Window shopping...

Baby Trend jogging stroller :D
Graco Flip-It Travel system
I like this one because of the animal theme & changing table.
This one is my absolute favorite because it has elephants that I love. And a little changing table.

I love the ruffles on this one. No changing table though.

Ok, so I'm wondering what are the bare essentials for the first 6 months of a baby's life? Obviously a crib/pack n play, stroller, and car seat... Advice/suggestions? Do you like the graco infant car seat that snaps into the stroller? If you only bought a pack n play and weren't planning on buying a separate changing table, would you definitely get a pack n play that comes with a changing station? Jogging stroller vs regular stroller?

ELDER SCOVILLE IS HOME (Joshua)

Ha ha I made sure to write Joshua in the title, because I didn't want to scare anyone. Jacob is still serving in Korea :D Joshua's flight got in this morning in Miami, FL at 6:53 am. It took FOREVER for him to get through customs & transfer his bags. He walked out the gate at about 7:50am. We got his boarding passes for the rest of his flights and then took him and another Elder to Jamba. Then back to the airport. If we had been at the Ft Lauderdale airport, we would have had more time to spend with him, but Miami is a little busier. It was so good to see him! Man, two years is a LONG TIME.
