Carly's Blessing

Not trying to throw you off with that sad face of Miss Carly May. She was actually an angel during her blessing and just slept. Carly May is now 2 months old. She is 9lb 13oz in the 25% and 24 1/4 in long in the 95%!!! Wahoo! We have a tall baby :) She is smiling lots and cooing. This 1pm church time was pretty rough for us today. Carly fell asleep, woke up, fussed, needed to be bounced, needed to vocalize her needs, fell asleep, woke up... all over again. We felt like we were on the airplane all over again - where we were aware of every little noise she made & felt like we needed to keep her quiet. However, this is an airplane we could get off of. It was nice to be able to walk out & in the hallways as needed. Much easier to change diapers & feed her :) It got chilly here again - so yes I put her zebra boots on her when we went on a walk tonight - two different times something hit my leg & I looked down to find that she'd kicked her boot off. Naughty! She knows how much I love those boots & she was trying to get rid of them lol.

Carly's favorite things as of late...

• Her swing. She has a mobile with bears that hang above her swing. She's noticed this over the past 2 weeks and now stares at the bears every time she's swinging (that's what keeps her attention). And if the bears move it's hard to see them - she will cry.
• Baby Einstein. I put on baby mozart and she loved it - cooing & smiling. So cute. The other night during her fussy time I put in a baby bach movie we have & she loved it. No more crying until daddy changed it to football....
• TV. Even though she especially loves baby einstein - she really loves watching TV. Really she likes lights. Sometimes she cries when I take her off of her changing table because she was looking at the light above.
• Bathtime. She still LOVES bathtime. We put the space heater in the bathroom when it seems to be a little chilly to make sure she doesn't get cold. It doesn't make a difference with her crying. She just loves being in the water. I've started putting her little pink ducky in the water - she will kick her legs more when it's in - so funny!

brrrr!

SO we left Washington & Utah to come back to the warm weather in beautiful Florida. Except that only lasted one night.... The days have been in the 50's and the nights in the 40's. Brrr! Carly and I have been very cold. And to top it off - we turned on the wall units for some heat and not too long after - they stopped working. No heat. Morgan bought 2 small space heaters for us after a long day of freezing for us. Not to mention I didn't think of walking outside (I think in the middle of the day it was warmer outside than it was inside). Yesterday I dressed Carly in some warm clothes & as I was dressing her I couldn't help but laugh and snap a bunch of pictures of her. Love this outfit!!!

December part 2: Christmas time

WEDDING TIME!!! Wow I can't believe my little brother is married! So exciting! It was a very special day all around. They are so cute together!

It was a great Christmas break. I think it's always hard to be away from home though. I missed having certain things for Carly like a swing, bouncy chair, etc. And it was hard to follow the same rouine. Carly's schedule is way off now (not that we really had a set schedule to start with, but now she goes to bed around 12/1am when it use to be 9/10pm...). We started off in Spokane, WA and ended in Logan, UT for the wedding. Carly got to see lots of family!

We left Florida with Carly wearing Newborn clothes & diapers and returned to have her wearing 0-3 months clothes & size 1 diapers. When I gave her a bath the other night in her whale tub, she looked so big!!! She is getting so tall. Morgan has been calling her a little toddler lol. She is so fun though, smiling a lot more & being very alert & attentive.

Morgan checked out Comfort Dental practices in Tacoma, WA while we were there and we're feeling really good about that practice. 5 months to go & we'll be Northwest bound!

December part 1

Before we left for christmas break....

We had friends over to watch the boat show on December 10th. We live on a waterway, so it was perfect - we just had to walk into the backyard & we were there :)

The coolest part of the show was this pic above - similar to a jetpack except there was water shooting out of his suit to keep him in the air. Way cool!

We also went to the beach. This was Carly's first time in her swimsuit (that actually says 12 months.... yeah she's definitely not big at all. I'm thinking that this company doesn't know what size they're actually making swimsuits for lol).

She actually got a little bit splashed when Morgan was holding her, but she liked it (and by liked it I mean she didn't cry :)

I made a gingerbread house with our family on the side. Note that my family is made of twizzlers. Yes, it's true. Carly does not have a face because I couldn't fit one in that tiny little circle :)
