March

We have a very happy boy. He loves to smile and will smile at anyone and everyone. He also loves to laugh. He's started doing the inch-worm to get to toys that are out of reach. He is eager to grow up and get places. He loves being on his tummy. Unless he is distracted on his back, he will roll over to his stomach immediately. He likes pears, rice cereal, and sweet potatoes so far. I learned of a book called "Baby Love" from a friend and have been making baby food this week. I've made pears, sweet potatoes, apples, apple & pear, and carrots. It's pretty sweet - you just pour it into ice cube trays & freeze. Then I put the cubes in freezer baggies. Genius. He has two bottom teeth as of 1 1/2 weeks ago. We're still working on sitting up without help, but I'm thrilled he's somewhat mobile :) He loves his big sister and will just stare at her and smile. Easily amused by her - he loves watching everything she does. While she's eating and he's sitting on the table in his bumbo, he will always try reaching for her plate, food, and cup. He loves to grab her hair and try to eat her face or hands.

She figured out that marker caps fit on her fingers all on her own. She is a great big sister. She loves to help out. While I'm feeding the little man, she will say "uh-oh mess" and get a napkin to wipe his face. She loves to give him a binky and blankey when she finds them. When he's laying on the floor playing, she will join him - laying right next to him and play with his toys with him. It's so fun to watch them interact. Sometimes he will decide that she is better than his toys and try to grab at her and that's usually when she either whines or gets out of reach. Big sister loves to sing along to music. "Muse please" she will say and loves singing along to "No more monkeys jumping on the bed."

In Carly's world, every monkey is named "George". Our good friend got this monkey for Carly and she carries him around everywhere. This was especially cute. Please note that he has a toy to play with. Also, I made her move her blanket so I could take this picture. She had him all tucked in. We get the luvs diapers - they have a picture of a monkey on them and she will point to it and say "monkey george".

She loves pirates. We have a Dora movie called Pirate Adventure. While my mom was here, she found this pirate set and got it for Carly to go along with the movie. There's a scene where they open up their treasure chest (and Carly will open our ottoman during that part), and retrieve their pirate stuff. So my mom thought it would be fun to copy the movie.

Here are my latest Pinterest projects. Sunburst mirrors. I'm very pleased with how they turned out.

I'm waiting to hang this in my room after we've painted.

A visit from Grandma

My mom came to visit and it was great. I had a workout buddy, a person to spend 1:1 time with the kids and help keep me sane. Then we would watch shows, play cards and other games while the kids slept. It was awesome!

My mom did an easter egg hunt for Carly. She loved it. She just put 1 fruit snack in each egg. It was perfect.

Carly has a Dora movie called Pirate Adventure. She loves it. My mom found a little pirate set for her. Can you tell she loves it? Poor Benson. As Jacob would say "he's totes jelly" :)

Morgan and I had a stress free date night while she was here too. We went out for Sushi. It was good, but Morgan didn't think it was great. What are your favorite restaurants in Tacoma? I feel like we usually stick to the regular Applebee's, Olive Garden, etc. but I'm really wanting to find a great Sushi & Mexican restaurant. Suggestions?

And by Sushi & Mexican - I mean them to be 2 separate restaurants :)
