Our Playroom/Storage Space is just about finished!

So this project has felt like it has dragged on FOREVER!!! I'm so happy that it's finally finished. My bonus room has felt like such a mess with boxes & things stacked up in the corner. It's so nice to have them in their rightful space once again. A space that is not dark or scary and now has lights.

Just in case you forgot - here are the before pics:

So we finally finished dry-walling. I say we because I helped, but I didn't do much. My hubby did most all of it. I just assisted in holding it up as needed.

My cousin's hubby offered to help with the mudding, taping & texturing. He also helped reinforce pieces of the drywall since the framing was spaced further apart than normal. We were thrilled. I helped with one layer of mud over the screws, my hubby helped with some of the mudding & taping, but my cousin's hubby takes the cake. He did almost all of it and it turned out great!

Looking so much better!

My little lady helped with the painting. I am cracking up looking at the pics. She was loving being able to "help". It was the perfect time to let her help since we were planning to lay down carpet and didn't care about the floor getting messy.

We went to a carpet liquidator store and found a remnant the perfect size. My hubby did the big cuts on our deck and then moved it inside.

I helped get the wood floor ready for the carpet by scraping off gunk. Basically I don't know if I really helped lol.

Here's the room all painted and ready for the carpet.

The little man wanted to copy Daddy, so sat down right next to him and started playing with all the fun toys/tools.

The kids finally got to play in the playroom. I have loved seeing how much they're enjoying their new playroom :)

This was his relief at finishing the other half of the carpet!

The little man helped vacuum the room. What a great helper!

The final finish work over the air duct.

In my mind - it's finished. Since it's just a closet space, I'm not super determined to have my hubby do the baseboards or trim around the doorways.

February 2015 recap

This was National FROYO day. Carly was so excited. She asks pretty much everyday to go to the "ice cream store". Strangely enough we have been going pretty frequently lately. The power of suggestion... :)
We finally got our Christmas gift piano. LOVE IT. And the kids have been loving the box it came in. Morgan cut a hole and it has been a fun fort/hide-away for the kiddos.
Carly frequently notices when the vents are blowing warm air and will sit in front. Cracks me up.
Benson has been enjoying the new piano. He actually plays pretty nice music and often will sing along.
Cabella's with Daddy on his day off! The kids always love the animals and the fish tank. This time around - Carly & Benson got to help feed the fish. They had fun, but I didn't get a great pic of it.

Trying out a cot at Cabella's. Not so surprisingly, Benson couldn't stay still...
Making Daddy's birthday cake. PS That little guy has this brute strength that amazes me.
Helping Daddy blow out the candles :)

Valentine's Day Date. Our plans fell through, so Morgan picked us up some Sushi. I have no idea why I love sushi so much, but just reminiscing with this picture is making me NEED some more sushi asap!
I love when Carly wants to help rock Benson to sleep, or just sit with him in the rocking chair. She decided she wanted to hold his hand. I love moments like this.
Daddy was getting ready for work. Benson just kept hugging his leg. He LOVES his Daddy. He is sad every morning when Daddy leaves.
This was a solid 15-20 min of fun for these kids.

And this is how Carly arranged my shoes back on the shelf after they were done playing :)
Rifle range date with my man.
This little guy does so many big boy things. This picture cracks me up.
This girl is goofy. Please note the kleenex tucked in the neck of her coat.
Children's Museum. Kids had a blast. We'll have to make this a regular thing.

My Mom decided to visit us last minute. We had so much fun. Children's Museum, Zoo/Carousel, Big Hero 6, Pizza and lots of PARTYING!

Benson actually enjoyed the Carousel this time around. It was fun to see them both enjoy it this time. Carly was determined to get on the zebra all by herself. Miss Independence.
Valentine's pictures. My friend Tiffany gave me the idea to dress them up & take a Valentine's pic. I'm glad I did - it was fun and then Carly helped me get them ready to mail.

Morgan's Dental Office switched completely to medical records - they were closed for 2 days to get computers installed. So we all went out to lunch!

Carly got hug-attacked. It was very cute.
Morgan got a special ice cream dessert for his birthday. Fun times.

I threw my first baby shower. It was very fun, but very time consuming beforehand. Pinterest has way too many great ideas. And I made my first diaper cake. Proud moment lol.

Benson loves yogurt as always. I am so in love with that sweet face and those very kissable cheeks.

This is the face she was making while singing with the primary at a baptism a month ago. I was terrified and motioned for her to sit down with me again. I hope she wasn't too distracting for everyone else, but I think she might have been. Luckily she didn't do it the whole time...

I love taking pictures at the beach and the kids have so much fun. Benson is in his own world - he doesn't even notice he's wearing clothes & shoes in the water.
